Buildwell

Construction billing

Billings tied to the budget, not rebuilt in a spreadsheet.

A Buildwell billing is a clean record of what should be billed from the project — line by line, shareable with the customer. It keeps the billing tied to the budget, line items, changes, and backup. It doesn't move money.

How it works

  • Create a billing from the project record
  • Draft how much should be billed from each relevant line item
  • Share the billing with the customer for visibility
  • Manage status yourself: Draft, Pending, Complete
  • Handle payment off platform through the project's real process

Draft, Pending, Complete — managed by you.

Use Draft while the billing is still being prepared, Pending when it has been shared or is waiting on the project's payment process, and Complete when your team considers that billing finished. Buildwell does not automatically collect payment or mark funds as received.

Works with how the project actually gets paid.

Payment can come from a construction loan, the customer directly, a split, a check, ACH, or another off-platform workflow. Buildwell isn't payment capture and doesn't replace QuickBooks, Stripe, or your bank — it organizes what should be billed and why. On the General Contractor plan, bank/loan visibility is included.

Customers review without an account.

Customers open the billing from a link to see what is being billed and why. The billing record, the approved change orders, and the T&M behind them stay together for the audit packet.
